No intentions, only customs – because these last longer.
Since I can think my mother hammers into me, lentil soup is the first thing a Hungarian eats on New Year’s Eve. Thats how to become beautiful and rich! Well, at least I’m taking care of my protein balance.

Lentil soup
ingredients
- 3 tbsp sunflower oil
1 medium onion (chopped)
2 tablespoons of flour
Fry the onion in oil until they look glassy, then powder with flour and sauté for 1 minute. Before adding water, take
- 1 tbsp. Paprika powder
and stir it into the onion. and immediately add
- 5 dl of water
to deglaze. Add the following ingredients:
- 300 g lenses (beluga, green or brown lenses)
1 carrot (peeled and chopped into small cubes)
1/2 celery (chopped into small cubes)
2 bay leaves
1 tbsp salt
1 clove of garlic
Let it simmer for about 40 minutes until the lentils are firm but well cooked.
Season the soup and serve then in a small bowl
some vinegar
a bit of salt
some pepper
1 sprig of parsley (as decoration) per plate
